Project: POR - Customer: Private - Location: Portimão, Portugal - Status: In progress

Renovation project for a 100m2 apartment in Portimao, Portugal. The apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a building built in the 90s and is in a very poor state of repair. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a closed kitchen and a living room opening onto a balcony.

The wall between the kitchen, living room and entrance hall will be demolished to open up the spaces and bring natural light into the living areas. It will also enlarge the space by creating an open kitchen with an island overlooking the living room.

A glass roof will close off the balcony, providing a better thermal envelope and offering the possibility of using it as a winter garden.

At present, the apartment has different floor coverings that don't match each other in the various rooms. Tiles in the day rooms and mosaic parquet in the bedrooms. Creating a cacophony of finishes and visuals.

The idea is to purify the spaces and unify the whole thanks to a laminate floor that will be present in all the spaces, bringing a warm, modern look.

The choice of materials and style for this extension is inspired by the Japandi style, which combines the sobriety and calm of Japanese and Scandinavian architectural styles. Using light materials to bring light into the spaces, and oak to maintain that tranquil ambience.
